After an exciting homecoming spirit week kickoff dance, students poured onto the quad on Monday wearing their best black and gold outfits to show their dragon pride. This year’s Unity Day kicked off spirit week on a positive note. The campus buzzed with excitement as gold glitter was passed around, and competing grades showed their class spirit at the Unity Day Rally.
Sam Crichton, Associate Student Body Publicist comments, “I hope we start off this week strong and that everyone brings their spirit. I want to see some crazy costumes and lots of dragon pride!” Katherine Jackman, ASB special operations officer adds, “I hope it will be a fun and memorable week for everyone and that the class of 2025 finally snatches the win. Most importantly, I hope that everyone feels unified and loved”. This is great because today was Unity Day and I think O’Dowd did a great job coming together and showing dragon pride.
Ms. Donahue put out her predictions on which class she thinks will take home the win this year and her bets are on the class of 2027. Each and every grade showed up with lots of energy and spirit, indicating that this will be a competitive race for first. The freshman really did bring their spirit and came out of nowhere getting loud with all of their chants and cheering. We love to see it keep it up! We also love the participation from the faculty where we had teachers like Mr.Kushner and Mr. McMillan participate in dragon dodgeball. Spirit week is truly such a special week at O’Dowd full of community and celebration, and Monday’s Unity Day was an awesome start. Keep up the great work dragons!
