Famous Freshmen, Surfer Sophomores, Jammy Juniors, and Saddle Up Seniors. On Wednesday, October 18th O’Dowd Students kicked off day three of Spirit Week 2023; Class Theme Day. Each year a poll created by class representatives to decide themes is sent out to every grade allowing them to vote on which theme they want for that year’s spirit week. Additionally, students from each grade come together to decorate their assigned hallway to match their theme, filling the O’Dowd campus with festive decorations that emulate school spirit.
Another rally today filled students with pride for their class through friendly competition and fun games. Lip sync battles, relay races, red light green light, and class banter painting were some of the many activities students participated in during today’s rally to win points for their class. To end it off, each grade presented their theme-inspired class chant, which they sang in unison to the whole school as a final opportunity to win points. During the rally, the student community came together to show good sportsmanship, unity, pride, and most importantly, school spirit.
Although spirit week is already halfway through, it’s anyone’s game. With night rally, class olympics, and more to come, this year’s spirit week is far from over.
