Varsity O’Dowd soccer player Charle Wittmayer ’25 says, “Manchester City is going to win back-to-back because they have a super-team.” The Premier League is the home to 20 English teams but there can only be 1 winner. This season, teams have spent $6.56 billion on 1,617 players. This is the record for the most money spent. As of this year, Premier League teams are worth billions of dollars. Manchester City leads the pack with an estimated worth of $4.99 billion. With money like this, players from around the world are brought into the Premier League.

Currently, there is only a 2-point gap between the first and second-place teams, but this could change depending on future performances from either side. In conclusion, the 2023/2024 season is going to be a season to remember with inevitable drama, new teams, and quality players.
