With the football season over and the victory of the Philadelphia Eagles still shining, the biggest turn of discussion falls right in between the plays of the 2025 Super Bowl ads. This year, according to the marketing and communications website Sustainable Brands, the Super Bowl showcased “around fifty ads” on February 9th. These ads had surprise guests from Hollywood star Kevin Bacon to the beloved host of Hot Ones, Sean Evans. Out of the fifty ads showcased, let’s check out the top three and what makes them so entertaining to the roaring audience of the Super Bowl.
Number Three: A Kiss From a Lime – Mountain Dew
This very surprising Mountain Dew ad featured the singer, Seal, who sang, “A Kiss From a Rose,” but changed the lyrics from Rose to Lime. A group of people, including Becky G, were transported to an island, where they meet Seal and gaze in awe as they hear his passionate singing. Capturing everyones attention, this commercial had everyone at home laughing at the play on words and loving every second of it.
Number Two: A Century Of Cravings – Uber Eats
Matthew McConaughey has gained lots of recognition throughout his career, but who would have guessed that one of his funniest performances was a commercial promoting Uber Eats. The Golden Globe winning actor discusses how football was actually created to promote food sales and how big of an importance food is when it comes to the Super Bowl. This ad follows many entertaining scenes with the wide range of surprise guests such as Kevin Bacon,Martha Stewart, Charli XCX, Sean Evans and Greta Gerwig. With this very well placed and meticulous ad, many folks at home related to this light hearted ad and it made the Super Bowl all that much more entertaining.
Number One: So Win. – Nike
The ad “So Win,” had an extremely powerful message that not only promoted the brand but also had a much deeper meaning than a lot of the other lighthearted ads that were showcased. “So Win” had special guests like Sha’Carri Richardson, Caitlin Clark, Jordan Chiles and many more who were all narrated by rapper, Doechii, about challenging societal norms as female athletes. The ad gave small clips of all of the athletes in games and performances, with simple sentences being narrated such as, “You can’t be confident” and, “You can’t be demanding” which illustrates how society views women. The strength and beauty of all of their talent and hard work mixed with the harsh reality of expectations of society show provide a bigger more meaningful message about how the world views women. Nike really blew away the audience and society with this ad and proved how the Super Bowl can be an outlet for important messages.
Overall, the Super Bowl had a surplus of great ads that ranged from light hearted and funny to ones that convey important messages that the world needs to hear. Every one of the ads had a great impact on the Super Bowl, but these three had their own shining effect on the audience who viewed the game.
