On Sunday, November 15th, Trump gave a speech to America regarding Joe Biden’s win in the election.

Throughout the election, Trump made it clear that he believed he had already won and had a lot of confidence that he would be President for the next four years. As the election began to sway towards a win for Biden, Trump also started speculating that many of the votes were fraudulent. CNN disclosed that Trump refused to concede and “hand over” the election to Joe Biden.

Many people voted, however, and the numbers showed. The 2020 election had the highest voter turnout in over a century. During this catastrophic year, the U.S. lacked a leader and a President, and American citizens took note.

A Republican Governor, Mike Dewine expressed his frustration towards Trump denying his loss. As Dewine states, “it is clear, that certainly based on what we know now, that Joe Biden is the President-elect and that transition for the country’s sake, it’s important for a normal transition to start through… And the President could go on his track, his legal track. We should respect that, but we also need to begin that process.” Trump refuses to let his power go, but the process must start now, especially as the election has concluded that Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States of America.

Ryan Williams, Class of 2023, also has opinions. She has been a Biden supporter for a long time and believes that Joe winning the election was not fraudulent at all. She claims, “I think that President Trump doesn’t know how to deal with loss and is struggling with the idea that he can’t manipulate the country anymore.” Ryan continued that now that President Trump has lost the election, he is unsure what he will do without the power he previously held and without the attention from his supporters. Ryan went on to say that she is very happy that Joe Biden won, but America still has a long way to go before it is in a good place. Ultimately, it is definitely a step in the right direction.

People hope to see change, unity, love, and peace throughout America and its people one day. With President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris soon to take office, people may finally see this change.
